The Faculty of Graduate Studies awarded the researcher Diana Faour a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property and Innovation Management in response to her thesis entitled “Proxies Turn in the Trademark Registration: Legal Study and Practical Implementations”.

The researcher in this thesis has been focused on the agent and his role in the procedures of national registration under the agency granted to him. The researcher explained through this study the conditions that must be available in the agent which were prescribed by the trademarks system No. (1) of 1952.  While the project of Palestinian industrial property law of 2012 stipulates several conditions, the most notably one is that the agent have to be familiar with the field of intellectual property. After that the researcher explained the procedures of national registration which carried out by the agent starting from the stage of disposal of the registration order including objections, the submission of regulations and evidence from both parties. Then the researcher dealt with the statement of the agent role after the issuance of the registration certificate and what are his terms of reference acting of the mark in all the forms of legal act including selling, pledging and assigning. The Trademarks law referred that the trademark may be assigned but it is associated with the commercial place, as well as the passport of seizure and pledging .The project of Palestinian Industrial Property law act also agrees with this. The researcher then showed the validity of the agency granted to the agent and whether it ends by the dismissing of the agent, or the death of the agent and / or the death of the client according to the general rules.
