The Faculty of Graduate Studies awarded the researcher Mohammed Hamwah a Master’s Degree in Arabic Language & Literature in response to his thesis entitled “Life and death in Ibn Al-Rumi's poetry”.
This study aims to figure out and illustrate the issue of life and death in Ibn Al-Rumi's poetry ,  address their  philosophical impact on him and decode their connotations and their psychological impact through gauging and digging into his poems and pursuing all the  relevant details mentioned in his collection of poems.                                                   
This study consists of  an introduction, a preface, two chapters and a conclusion.         
In the introduction, the researcher discusses the topic, methodology, contents, significance , references and sources of the study. However, in the preface, the researcher briefly focuses on the issue of   life and death up to the Abbasid period  highlighting the prevalent  mythological and traditional beliefs in the earlier times.                               
In the first chapter, the concepts of life and death in Ibn Al-Rumi's poetry are extensively illustrated ,where the opinions of the researchers, critics are introduced together with Ibn Rumi's point of view of  certain topics closely associated with life and death.             
In the second chapter, the researcher addresses the features of  death in Ibn Al-Rumi's poetry, especially, when the poet talks about age, sickness and grey hair. These features    had always  disturbed Ibn Al-Rumi's life.                                                    
In the conclusion, the researcher concludes the main findings of the study.  
The committee consisted of: Dr. AbdelKhaleq Issa as a main supervisor and Chairman, Prof. Mashhour Habbazi as an external examiner and Prof. Ehsan Al-Deek as an internal examiner.
At the end of the session, the committee approved the success of the researcher and recommended him a Master’s degree.
